Funding

Community Transport Fund

North Yorkshire County Council is now looking forward to accepting applications from Community Transport operators to help fund their projects.

£415,987 has been made available to North Yorkshire County Council from the Department for Transport to ‘help invest in the future to provide more sustainable transport for local communities’.

Operators who would like to apply for funding need to fill out an expression of interest form in the first instance supplying a brief summary your proposal with initial costings. A more comprehensive form will have to be submitted if your expression of interest is accepted.

There are no hard and fast rules on what will be funded, however successful applications will be ones that most fulfil the council’s objectives and priorities. These are outlined in the NYCC Local Transport Plan 2011-2016 which sets out the core policy for transport, and the access to services annex which expands on the priority to “promote greater equality of opportunity for all by improving peoples access to all necessary services”
